And I will give unto thee the metaphysical keys of the kingdom of heaven...A key is a means that provides access to an objective. Only metaphysical or spiritual keys can grant access to heaven, since it is a non-physical state. No one would expect to have a tangible key to open the gate to the Kingdom of Heaven!
