Meditation-Music to reach Celestial heights

Why Meditation-Music?

There would be no need for meditation-music without the existence of the phenomenon of meditation. Therefore, it would be appropriate to first explain in a few words what true meditation is before we embark on a discussion of our subject proper.

If we understand God to be the governing Supreme Intelligence that pervades the Universe, then we can understand Meditation as a technique of bringing God into our experience. Being a time-tested and proven tool for man's spiritual unfoldment, its mastery gives one access to the more profound levels of self (or, consciousness).

According to the great metaphysician, Dr. Robert H. Bitzer, "Man's destiny is to become conscious of God's Life within him as his complete Life, as the only Life. He then expresses this God awareness as wealth, happiness, health, joy, love and peace..."

Thus, we see that by means of meditation we can attain to such desirable attributes as wealth, happiness, health, joy, love and peace. Yet it must be made clear here that when we engage in this practice we are not seeking for any of these conditions; neither are we seeking for divine intervention or a magical resolution of our problems. In fact, we are NOT seeking anything! We are simply stilling our conscious mind and our emotions so that by a process beyond our understanding, our mental patterns can be rearranged thus enabling us to better cope with existence.

Traditionally, certain paraphernalia have been known to enhance our success in this contemplative art. These include a clean, quiet environment, a pleasant fragrance (or, incense) and soothing, ambient music. Indeed no less a personage than the great mystic Bahá'u'lláh said: "We have made music a ladder by which souls may ascend to the realm on high..." Such is the potency of music.
